HMSA HealthPass Program Receives National Health Award
Dallas, TX – June 19, 2008 – Phoenix Health Systems, Inc. (Phoenix), a national provider of healthcare strategic consulting, information technology outsourcing and revenue cycle management services, would like to congratulate the Hawaii Medical Service Association (HMSA) on receipt of a 2008 HealthMedia Fusion Award for its HealthPass program. The nonprofit’s health promotion and disease prevention program was presented an award for Best Overall Integration Strategy, highlighting a tightly integrated and comprehensive system for improving member health and reducing medical costs.
HealthPass was developed by Integrated Services, Inc. (ISI), a subsidiary of HMSA, with information technology support provided by Phoenix, and features health-risk assessments, screenings, interactions with health professionals, risk-based referrals to clinical intervention programs, and assistance in accessing community-based programs for smoking cessation, disease management, health and safety, and health education. HealthPass began its comprehensive health promotion and prevention activities in 1990 with less than 3,000 members participating. Today, more than 25,000 HMSA members participate each year.
“We’re honored to receive this special recognition,” said Caryn Ireland, Vice President of Integrated Services, Inc. “HealthPass is making a real difference in the lives of many people. By participating in HealthPass, our members are taking an active role in improving their health. They are also doing their part to help slow the rising cost of health care in our community.”
“Phoenix extends our congratulations to HMSA, ISI and to all of the team members that have made HealthPass a success,” said Darin LeGrange, President and CEO of Phoenix Health Systems. "Phoenix is proud to support ISI with application development services and technology management services. We are committed to providing innovative, cost effective solutions which support the delivery of quality care and services for our clients.”
